RESOLUTION
No. 7+4 , 62
WHEREAS, the City Commission has been advised that HB 3313
relating to the establishment of a resort tax is now being reconsidered by
the Florida Legislature; and
WHEREAS, one of the issues is whether the State should take a share
of such tax or whether all of the funds should be distributed to the local
governments; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to officially support the passage
of HB 3313 with the same retaining the referendum provision, but allocating
all of the funds to the local governments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS;
1. That the City of Clearwater hereby officially gives its support
to the passage of HB 3313 relating to the levying of a resort tax after a favorable
referendum, and would further recommend that the funds all be allocated to
the local governments.
2. That copies of this Resolution be forwarded forthwith to each member
of the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation.
