A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE PINELLAS COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO SUBMIT THE LEGISLATION
PROPOSED BY THE PINELLAS SERVICES STUDY COMMISSION
TO THE MUNICIPALITIES, THAT FORMAL REQUEST FOR
SUCH LEGISLATION BE WITHHELD FOR A REASONABLE
TIME, AND THAT THE PINELLAS SERVICES STUDY
COMMISSION BE RETAINED AS AN EDITING BODY.

WHEREAS, the Pinellas Services Study Commission was formed in
December, 1973, to consider consolidation of certain public services within
Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, the Pinellas Services Study Commission has prepared
legislation proposing consolidation of some services; and
WHEREAS, such consolidation would have a significant impact on
the municipalities within the County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater hereby officially requests the Board
of County Commissioners of Pinellas County to submit the proposed legislation
prepared by the Pinellas Services Study Commission to each of the municipalities
for review and comment.
2. Further, that formal request to the Pinellas Legislative Delegation
for such legislative action be withheld for a reasonable time to permit comment
by the municipalities.
3. That the Pinellas Services Study Commission be retained as an
editing body to modify the proposed legislation as may be necessary in
compliance with County and Municipal requests.
