WHEREAS, the State Department of Transportation has not taken
action to improve the unsightly appearance of Courtney Campbell Causeway; and

that $200 000 is available in the form of grants on a matching basis to beautify
and make improvements to said Causeway and this sum in equal arts will

• be set aside in 1974 for Clearwater and Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, the City and the County would each be required to match
these grants with approximately $Z0, 000 each; and

facilities as the intial project, which said facilities are needed in the area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater desires to participate in this and
other much needed beautification projects with the County of Pinellas;

=j NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY '
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
'k tfk' IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission hereby officially approves the filing of an
application to the State Department of Natural Resources for funds on a matching
basis to beautify and develop boat launching facilities on Courtney Campbell Cause-
way, which improvements are to be coordinated with the County of Pinellas,
and authorizes the expenditure of $20, 000 in matching funds to complete the project.
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded forthwith to
the State Department of Natural Resources, Tallahassee, Florida, and to the
Board of County Commissioners of Pinellas County, Florida.
