RESOLUTION
No. 73 - 90
WHEREAS, House Bill 1161 amending The Regional Transportation
Authority Law has been passed by the Florida State Legislature; and
WHEREAS„ said Act provided for the formation of a Charter Committee
to reorganize the Tampa Bay Area Rapid Transit Authority; and

WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is desirous of participating in said
t Charter Committee and appointing a representative thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
s, COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWAWER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS

That the City of Clearwater, Florida, pursuant to the provisions of

Florida Statutes 163. 567 desires to convene a Charter Committee to develop
a
s° a charter for a regional transportation authority and are qualified pursuant to
the provision of said statute to convene and establish such an Authority and

?- 1, Approve the appointment of such Charter Committee;
Z. Certify that its population is in excess of 50, 000 and totals
52, 074 pursuant to the last official census (1970); and
3. Therefore, we are entitled to one (1) representative on such Charter
Committee and hereby designate GLENN BENEKE, 115 So. Mars Avenue,
Clearwater, Florida, as representative to such Charter Committee.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of July, 1973.
