RESOLUTION
No. 73 - 50
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Commission
of the City of Clearwater, Florida, that a bill has been filed in the Florida
State Legislature to change the narne of the Courtney Campbell Parkway to
Davis Causeway; and
WHEREAS, it is the understanding of this Commission that the roadway
is still known as Davis Causeway but that the overall facility, such as the
recreational areas, etc. are known as the Courtney Campbell Parkway; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater feels that this is not a proper
change and should not be approved by the Legislature;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
hereby officially urges the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation to oppose
this bill and to urge that the same not be passed.
2. That the City Commission feels that both identities Courtney
Campbell Parkway and Davis Causeway should be maintained.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be transmitted forthwith
to the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation.
