RESOLUTION
No. 73.. Z3
WHEREAS, the Municipal Charter of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
provides that the Mayor) any two members of the Commission, or the City
Manager, may call special meetings of the Commission, upon at least six
(6) hours' written notice to cach member, nerved personally, or left at hiB
usual place of residencc: and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to aet forth the poHcy by which
such special meetings may be called,
NOW, THEREFOR.E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEAR WATER, FLORIDA,
IN' SESSION DULY AND REGULARL Y ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
That the poHcy of the City Commis sion for calling spccial meetings of
the said City Commission shall be as follows:
1. There shall be twenty..four (Z4) hours' written notice to each member
served personally or left at his usual place of residence.
Z. A written agenda of all items to be considered shall be attached to
the notice.
3. A special meeting may be called by the Mayor, any two members' of
the Commission or the City Manager. Every reasonable effort will be expended
to see that the agenda is publiahed in a newspape1' of general circulation in the
City of Clearwater prior to the meeting) and a copy of the agenda will be
delivered to the news media.
4. An emergency meeting of the City Comnrls sian may be called as
provided in paragraph 3 above on six (6) hout's' written notice provided an
emergency exists involving the welfat'e of the City and/or its major policies.
The Mayor shall be the judge of the emergency nature of the meeting and the I'cason
for its being called and notices as aforesaid will be sent out to each member
with a copy of the complete agenda items to be discus sed.
