No. 73 - 13
WHEREAS. the St.'\te of Florida Department of Transportation has
prepared a plan for the widening and improvement of U, S. 19 (SR 55) from
74th Avenue North 03R 694) to the Pasco County Line: and
WHEREAS. the proposed widening and improvement includes the
addition of two lanes to provide a six"lane divided highway on U. S. 19. the
construction of frontage or access roads which will parallel the main highway
and connect to U. S. 19 only at interchanges and grade separations. and
WHEREAS. the proposed improvement of U. S. 19 will improve the
traffic safe ty and capacity; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater can require dedication of proposed
right-of-way for future roads or widening of ex.isting roads in its annexation,
zoning and rezoning of property to be or within the corporate limits of the
City, and require setbacks in accordance thereto. and
WHEREAS, the Florida. Department of Transportation plans. drawn
to a scale of 1" = lOa', do show and define the proposed right"ofooway linea,
but the aerials used in preparing the plans are outda.ted and do not show all
structures and improvements which have been erected in the areas required
within the City limits of Clearwater. and said aerials should be updated:
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER. FLORIDA.
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED. AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the proposed right-of-way lines be established for future
frontage roads, interchanges and grade a eparations. and for the widening
of U. S. 19 for the area within the limits of the City of Clearwater as shown
on preliminary plans prepared by the Florida Department of Transportation
entitled:
"Proposed improvements and widening of U. S. 19 from 74th
Avenue North (SR 694) to the Pasco County Line" - "Controlled
Access." Sheets No. 1 through 44 and dated January 10. 1973.
provided, however, the aerials used are updated 80 that all new structures
and hnproveinents. in the areas .required are shown on the plans.
