WHEREAS, the United States of America authorized the making of
grants to public bodies to aid in financing the Pllrchase and development nf
outdoor recreati,onal areas;
NOW, 'fHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That Merrett R. Stierheim, City Manager. be and he is hereby
authorized to execute. file and amend as necessary an application on behalf of
the City of Clearwater. Florida, with the Florida Department of Natural Resources.
acting as agent for the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of
Outdoor Recreation, for a grant to aid in purchasing the real property known as
Sand Key for outdoor recreational use, and an assurance of compliance with all
applicable State and Federal regulations including those relating to Title VI
of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
2.. That Merrett R. Stierheim. City Manager, be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to furnish such information as the Department of
Natural Resources may reasonably request in connection with the application
which is herein authorized to be filed and otherwise act as authorized representative
of the City in connection with this application.
3. That certified copies of this Resolution be included all part of the
application with the Department of Natural Resources, State of Florida, and
with the Department of the Interior, United States of America.
