'~ ~'..~('iF'. _ ~•Ef N'~ :y='t. _i; .A :s: £, ~°~:fr l~r fe 'f 'r, .,i`,i`:`.`~~~''~'+~'~i' s'a'Sf'_ir };~~.. 3~t{ ~S.-. t ,R "rns.R RESOLUTION Na. 7 Z ~ 7Z WHEREAS, the Pinellas County Council of Mayors, represontirig their xeapective municipalities, accepted the Federally sponsored National Flood Insuxance Program; and WHEREAS, the municipalities thereby represented were not fully apprised of the many ramifications of the program prior to its acceptance; and ` WHEREAS, upon receipt of the regulations governing the program. found the established base flood levels to be too high to ba realistic and unacceptable to these municipalities seeking a sound and equitable Flood Insurance Program; and WHEREAS, the established rate formula makes the program coat pxohibitfve to many of our property owners zn flaod..pxone and flood hazard areas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF T1IE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, liV SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS; 1, That the program be thoroughly xeseaxched to determine its equality for all citizens in flood prone and hazard areas. 2, That ail avenues be explored to provide a satisfactory and acceptable program to all, to include the position of the Local governing officials, offering them an opportunity to voice their acceptance or xejection, 3, That all cut..off dates be eliminated which would deny insurance to those desiring coverage and to those now participating in the program, until such time as all of the obvious differences have been resolved. ~. That certified espies of this Resolution shall be forwarded to all governmental representatives associated with the Flood Ynauxance Program in this area.
