~•~~~~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE TAMPA BAY BASIN
' "INTERIM" WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT AND
POLLUTION ABATEMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City i8 an active member of the TAMPA BA"Y
REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL;and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Florida Department
of Pollution Control, and the Governor have designated tho Tampa Bay Regional
Planning Council as responsible for executing and maintaining a Regional Water
Quality Management and Pollution Abatement Plan far the Tampa Bay Basin; and
WHEREAS, the execution and maintenance of this plan by the Tampa Bay
Regional Planning Council and the City's adoption and continuing support of said
plan for implementation is a prerequisite for the City of Clearwater'e participation
in Fderal v~rastewater facility construction grant programs administered by the
Environmental Protection Agency; and
WHEREAS, the City supports the overall intent, objectives, standards
and planning requirements set forth by EPA and the FDPC to properly control
waste disposal and protection of the City's water quality; and
WHEREAS, the City's engineering and planning consultant in
coordination with the City Departments assisted the Tampa Bay Regional
Planning Council in incorporating the City's plane andprograrns into the said
plans to provide for a regional solution to pollution and water quality control; and
WHEREAS, in the City's final xeview of the "Interim Phase" of said
plan, with a slight revision of the Clearwatex service axes to reflect the latest
negotiations with private developers and neighboring cities, the plan has been
found to compliment the City's overall development plans and pragrarna,
specifically those projections and plans dealing with water quality control;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 1tESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY ANA REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS t
