RESOLUTION
Na. 72 » 37
WHEREAS, the Florida State Department of Transportation approved
a temporary change in the t~nlfic signal system at the intersection of Stato
Road bD (Memorial Causeway) and Island Way, which caused all Eastbound
traffic on S. R. 60 to stop when traffic was emerging from Island Way; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater feels that this traffic signal system
is superiox to the previous one which created a hazard by forcing vohicles
emerging fxom Island Way to merge with the Eastbound traffic an S. R, 60;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater desires to request the Department
of Transportation to permit said traffic signal system to remain permanently
at said intersection;
NOW, THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
1N SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater hereby requests the Florida State
Department of Transportation to permit the traffic signal system at the inter
section of State Road 60 (Memorial Causeways and Island Way, in the City
of Clearwater, Flaxida, to remain permanently in its present form.
2. That a certified copy of this Resalutian shall forthwith be furnished
to the Department.
