RESOLUTION
No. 72 - 34
WHEREAS, the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council is carrying out
long-range area-wide planning programs for the region comprised of Hillsborough,
Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Sarasota Gountics; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has been an active member of the
Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council since its inception in 19b2; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, by theix
official representation on the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, has
participated jointly vsrith other member local governments in the preparation of
comprehensive plans for the sound and orderly development of the Tampa Bay
area; and

WHEREAS, such paxticipation in regional planning has proved to be
successful, effective and beneficial far local governments; and
WHEREAS, the Governor's Task Force on Resources Management
after long and careful study has recommended that the State of Florida establish
uniform regional planning boundaxiea;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMLSSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater hereby strongly
urges the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation to give full support to House
Bill 3975, "The Regional Planning Act".
Z. That a certified copy of this Resolution be sent forthwith to the
Pinellas County Legislative Delegation.
