RESOLUTION
No. 7I -135
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is aware of the intent of the Depart-
ment of Transportation to improve State Road 6U =Gulf ~o Bay Boulevard} between
Highland Avenue and State Road 55 (U.S. 19} in Cleaxwater, Florida, by revising
the median to provide left turn storage lanes at needed locations as a part of the
Traffic Operations Program to Increase Capacity and Safety (TOPICS}; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to request the Department to use TOPICS
funds to cover all costs of materials, equipment and installation of said
improvement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater hereby requests the Department of
Transportation to use TOPICS funds to improve State Road 60 (Gulf to Bay
Boulevard} between Highland Avenue and State Road 55 (U. S. 19}, in Clearwater,
Florida, by revising the median to provide left turn storage lanes at needed
locations.
2. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida, hereby
approves and endorses the proposed highway improvements to State Road 60
{Gulf to Bay Boulevard} between Highland Avenue and State Road 55 (U. S. 1g}.
3. That the City will provide beautification in the median in accordance
with the procedures and policies of the Department.
4. That five (5} executed copies of this Resolution shall forthwith be
furnished to the Department of Transportation.
