No. 71-47
WHEREAS , the existing Courtney Campbell Causeway bridges •
have tdeteriorated to the point that the Gauseway had to be dosed to traffic
for six weeks while the bridges were repaired; and
WHEREAS , the bridges have a 50D0 pound load restr3ctian and
may again become unsafe and thus force the Elasing of the Causeway;
and
WHEREAS . the City Commission of the City of Clearwater cones
eiders the condition of the existing bridges to constitute an emergency
situation until new bridges can be constructed; and
WHEREAS , the City Commission concurs with the Pinellas County
Water and Navigation Control Authority in their approval of the Bulkhead
Line and the Dredge and Fill Permit as applied for by the Department of
T ranepartation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, IN SESSIOAi DULY
AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the T rustees. of the Internal Improvement Fund Board
approve said Bulkhead Line and Dredge and Fill Permit at the earliest
opportunity in order that the construction of the new bridges may be started.
