RESOLUTION
No. 6q - 4q
WHEREAS, an Act relating to the municipal police officers retire-
ment trust fund which increases to two per cant the tax which may be imposed
by'municipalities upon casualty insurance companies has been presented to : °
the Florida Legislature fox enactment; and
WHEREAS, said Act will benefit Clearwater policemen by providing
more funds for the Supplementary Pension Fund of the Police Department;
and
Y
WHEREAS, the Supplementary Pension Committee of the Clearwater
Police Department has requested the City Commission to officially support
the enactment of this legislation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE50LVED HY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CIT`I OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That £he City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
hereby officially endorses legislation to increase to two per cent the tax
which may be imposed by municipalities upon casualty insurance companies
since the same will provide more funds for the Supplementary Pension Fund
of the Police Department of the City of Clearwater and urges the members
of the Florida Legislature to enact said legislation at this session,
2. That a certified copy of this Resnlution shall be delivered
forthwith to Honorable Sohn J. Savage, Chairman, Pinellas County
Legislative Delegation.
