WHEREAS, the City Commission of the Cfty of Clearwater believes
that it ie the right of every individual to live in any area he may choose
and in any home that he may choose to buy suitable to his circumstances
in life; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission believes that it is morally wxong
to deny any individual access to housing accommodations or ownership
because of race, color or creed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED SY TI3E CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY A55EMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1, That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater supports
and will uphold the law of the land pertaining to open housing.
2. That the City Commission hereby calls on thr. Community Relations
Board to investigate any reported violations of open housing and report back
to the City Commission.
3. That the City Commission requosts the Clearwater-Largo-Dunedin
Board of Realtors, the Contractors and Builders Association of Pinellas
County and all lending institutions in upper Pinellas County to publicize their
willingness to serve all people regardless of their color, race ar religion.
