RESOLUTION
No. 69 - 21
WHEREAS, Clearwater is in many ways economically dependent
upon the use of its natural resources including the Say and Gulf waters; and
WHEREAS, a large portion of the marine industry is dependent upon
Sig Pass being a navigable waterway supplying immediate access to the Gulf
of Meadca; and
WHEREAS, due to silting conditions the Pass is no longer navigable;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is desirous of requesting the
Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council far assistance in securing a govern-
ment study to determine what steps should be taken to insure that Big Pass
will be maintained as a navigable waterway;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City of Clearwater hereby officially requests the Tarnpa
Bay Regional Planning Council for assistance in securing a government
study to determine what steps should be taken to insure that Big Pass will
be maintained as a navigable waterwa•-
