RESOLUTION
' No. 64 - 5
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NEED FOR ,
A HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has been studying the need for a
housing authority to operate in the City of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there are persons of low
income and who are infirm of body and that there may be displaced persona
in need of housing to enable them to live a good life; and
WHEREAS, by a former Resolution of the City of Clearwater, dated
September 15, 1441, a housing authority was created but, insofar as it
can be determined, was never active;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESDLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
finds and declares in pursuance of the Housing Authority Law of the State of
Florida, to wit, Chaptsr 421 Florida Statutes that
{a} Insanitary or unsafe inhabited dwelling accommodations
exist in the City;
(b} There is a shor~age of safe or sanitary dwelling accom-
modations available to persons of low income at rentals they can afford;
{c} There is a need for a housing authority in the City of
Clearwater, Florida.
2. That the name of the authority shall be and shall hereafter be
designated as the Clearwater Housing Authority.
3. That five {5) persons shall be appointed in accordance with law to
serve on the Housing Authority.

4. That this Aoeolution shall bo offactivc immediately upon its
passage.
5. That the appropriate gnvcrnrnental agencies shall be informed
of this action of the City Commission of the City of Clearwater and that
certified copies of this Resolution shall be furnished to the appropriate
governmental agencies.
