R E S O L U T I O N
No, G8 ~ 90
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida, has received requests
from many of its citizens that the City request the State Road Department
to make a feasibility survey relative to the installation of a traffic signal
at Myrtle Avenue (S. R. 697y and Jeffords Street; and
WHEREAS, said traffic signal is deemed to be necessary because
of the heavy influx of traffic in this area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is willing to purchase, install
and maintain this signal if the same is found to be warranted after a study
by the Traffic and Planning Department of the State Road Department; and
WHEREAS, this action requires the approval of the State Road Board
of Florida;
f~°~;; NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GITY
';:;: c., COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
r:~;;;: IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLh;D, AS
~'~'~;~~~`, FOLLOWS:
1. That the State Road Department and the State Road Board are
hereby officially requested to conduct a study as to the feasibility of
installing a traffic signal at the interesection of Myrtle Avenue (S. R. 697)
and Jeffords Street in the City of Clearwater, Florida.
2, That the City of Clearwater will purchase, install and maintain
said signal ii the same is found to be warranted after such study.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be furnished the State
Road Department, Bartow, Florida; the State Road Board, Tallahassee,
Florida; and Honorable Donald R. Crane, Jr. , Skate Road Board Member,
St. Petersburg, Florida.
