WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida, has received several
requests for annexation of parcels immediately adjacent to U. S. Highway
19 at its intersection with State Road 60 in the City limits of said City;
and
WHEREAS, two tremendous shopping complexes are being planned
for the immediate future, together with motels and other uses; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is desirouB of keeping abreast
of traffic needs where possible;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLDRIDA,
IN SE5SION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
i. That the State Road Department and the State 12aoad Board are
hereby officially requested to conduct a traffic study at the intersection of
U, S. Highway 19 and State Road 60 in the City limits of the City of
Clearwatex.
2. That the City of Clearwater, through its City Manager, offers
to acquaint the appropriate personnel of the State Road Department, either
in person or by letter, with the planned developments in that area. The
City requests that these plane and the traffic generated thereby be made
a part of this study.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be furnished the State
Raad Department, Bartow, Florida; the State Road Board, Tallahassee,
Florida; and Honorable Donald R. Crane, Jr. , State Road Board Member,
5t. Petersburg, Florida.
