WHEREAS, tho State of Florida has under consideration the
construction of a State Office Building in Pinellas County to accommodate
presently decentralized State offices; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is the County Seat of Pinellas
County; and
WHEREAS, the County Commies ion, Administration and Judicial
offices are located in the downtown area of the City of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS, the Pinellas County School Administration offices
and other important Governmental Agencies are located in the City of
Clearwater; and
WHEREAS, Clearwater is in the Centex of Pinellas County and
would generally be equidistant from the boundaries of Pinellas County; and
?.~'~~ WHEREAS, Clearwater is equidistant from the Tampa and St.
~,~` Petersburg metropolitan areas; and

~~;', WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater finds
it most desirable to have this centralized State Office Buildu}g located
'~``°'•` in the downtown business district of the City of Cleaxwater; and

WHEREAS, State Officials have personally investigated City owned
land in the downtown business district of Clearwater upon which could be
located the proposed State Office Building;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED Bev THE CITY
COMMLSSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, A5
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater hereby officially confirms the
offer of City owned land and/or air rights above City owned land to the
State of Florida for the purpose of constructing a State Office Building
in the downtown business district. Said land and/or air rights, the title
of which may he negotiated to be conveyed to the State of Florida, are
reflected upon a plat which the City Manager presented to members of the
Board of Commission of. State Institutions and are mare particularly
described as follows:
Lots 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, Block 5, Gould and Ewing
2nd Addition;
Lots 1, 2, 3, d and portion of Lots 5 and 10,
Lots 11, 12, 13 and 1~, Block b. Gould and Ewing
2nd Addition;
Lots I, 2, 3, 16 and a portion of I5, Block ?,
Gould and Ewing 2nd Addition. 1
