j'~iEREAS, the City Commission has been advised and noted
that there now exists a need to improve navigation channels in
Clearwater Harbor and to provide additional water recreation
facilities in Clearwater Harbor by the removal of sands rock,
and earth by a dredging and pumping of certain areas in Clear-
water Harbor; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has beer_ advised that the
dredging and pumping necessary to accomplish the foregoing can
be done at no cost to the City of Clearwater; in the event that
the dredging and pumping can begin immediately; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes that it would be
in the best interests of the City and serving a public need to
accomplish the foregoing without cost to the City:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY 4F CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City r~fanager be and he is hereby authorized to
apply, as soon as possible, to the Trustees of the Internal
Trnprovement Fund of the State of Florida and to th.e U. S. Army
Corps of Engineers, pur3uant to the applicable State and Federal
laws and regulations, for the necessary permits to allow the
removal. of sand, rock, and earth by dredging and pumping from the
following described real property Zya.ng in Clearwater, Florida,
in order to serve the public interest by the improvement of
