RESOLUTION
No, 67 - 19
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has received numerous requests
from the residents and management of Bayvfew Gardens Housing, Inc. and
from the business mon situated directly opposite that a vehicular activated
traffic signal be installed at the corner of Elizabeth Avenue and Gulf to
Bay Boulevard [State Raad 60}; and
WHEREAS, said vehicular activated traffic signal is deemed to be
necessary in order to insure the safety of pedestrians in the area as well as
to insure the eacpeditious'movement of traffic; and '
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is willing to purchase, install
and maintain said signal if the same is found to be' warranted after a
study by the Traffic and Planning Department of the State Road Department;
and
WHEREAS, this action requires the approval of the State Road Board
of Florida;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the State Road Department and the State Road Board are
hereby officially requested to conduct a study as to the feasibility of
installing a vehicular activated traffic signal at the corner of Elizabeth
Avenue and Gulf to Bay Boulevard {State Road 60}, in the City of Clearwater,
Florida.
2. That the City of Clearwater will purchase, install and mauitain
said signal if the same is found to be warranted after such study.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be furnished the State
Road Department, Bartow, Florida and the State Road Board, Tallahassee,
Florida.
