No. 67 - 18
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida, a municipal corporation,
r "'~~' "~"" hQrcin called the Applicant, has been chartorad by the LQgielaturu oaf the "'
State of Florida in duo form of law; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, after thorough invastig~.tian of
tha various aspects nt outdoor recreational planning, has determined that
the construction of certain public works generally described as Seminole
Street Saat Launching Ramp and Picnicking Facilities, is desirable and
in tha public interest; and
WHEREAS, this project comes within the purview of the Land
' and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 (P. L. 88-578y, which said
Act provides funds to various states on an allocation,basia which is to be
further divided in a matching fund program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has, after duly considering the
said Act; found it to be in the public interest and to its benefit to file an
application under said Act and to authorize other action in connection therewith;
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITX
COMMISSION OF THE C]:TY OF GLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
I. That the construction of said public works is essential to and in~
the best interest of the Applicant.
2. That James R. Stewart, City Manager of the City of Glearwater,
Florida, be and he is hereby authorized to file irx behalf of the Applicant an
application in form required by the United States of America and in canfnrmity
with said Act requesting Federal funds to be allocated by the State in the
sum of $70, OQO to construct the improvements described in the application
as Seminole Street Boat Launching Ramg and Picnicking Facilities.
3. The said James R. Stewart, City Manager, ie hereby authorized
to furnish such information and take such action as may be necessary to enable
the Applicant to qualify for the assistance.
4. That the officer designated in the preceding paragraph is hereby
designated as the authorized representative of the Applicant for the purpose
of furnishing to the United States of America, the State of Florida and the
Outdoor Recreational Planning Committee of the State of Florida such
information, data and documents pertaining to the application and otherwise
act as the authorized representative of the Applicant in connection with this
application,
5. That certified copies of this Resolution be included as part of
the application for an advance to be submitted to the United States of America,
the State of Florida and/or the Outdoor Recreational Planning Committee
of the State of Florida.
