WHEREAS, tho owners of Glon Oaks Galf Course haves asked
the City of Clearwater to requost t1~e Stato Road Department to make a
feasibility survey relative to the installation of a pedestrian activated
txaffic signal at said Glen Oaks Golf Course and Court Street (State Raad
545A) in the City of Clearwator; and
WHEREAS, said pedestrian activated traffic signal is deemed to be
necessary when tho Court Street widening project has been completed
since the parking arena for tho golf course will of necessity be across
said State Road 545A; and
WHEREAS, the inevitable heavy influx of traffic due to the widening
project will make it very difficult and dangerous for the golfers to cross
the road to the golf course; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is willing to purchase, install
and maintain this signal if the same is found to be warranted after a study
by the Traffic and Planning Department of the State Road Depaxtment; and
WHEREAS, this action requires the approval of the State Road
Board of Florida;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
iN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the State Road Department and the State Road Board are
hereby officially requested to conduct a study as to the feasibility of
installing a pedestrian activated traffic signal at Glen Oaks Golf Course
and Court Street (State Road 545A) in the City of Clearwater.
Z. That the City of Clearwater will purchase, install and maintain
said signal if the same is found to be warranted after such study.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be furnished the State
Road Department, Bartow, Florida and the State Rnad Board, Tallahassee,
Florida,
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of February, 1467.
