WHEREAS, the' City of Clearwater, Florida, has received a
recommendation tram its Chief of Police and its Traffic Plann4r that
the City request the State Raad Department to make a feasibility survey
relative to the installation of a traffic signal at Drew Street (State Road
59D) and U. S. 19; and
WHEREAS, said traffic signal is deemed to be necessary because of
the heavy influx of traffic to this area and especially now since the
Clearwater Branch of the St. Petezaburg 3'unior College has commenced
its operation in the area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is wining to purchase, install
and maintain this signal if the same is found to be warranted after a study
by the Traffic and Planning Department of the State Road Department; and
WHEREAS, this action requires the approval of the State Road Board
of Florida;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COIVlMISSiON OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SE55ION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the State Road Department and the State Road Board is
hereby officially requested to conduct a study as to the feasibility of
installing a traffic signal at the intersection of Drew Street (State Road
59D) and U. S. 14.
