RESOLUTIDN
No. 65 - 31
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Commission of the State of Florida
is presently holding public hearings in Pinellas County concerning the
rates charged by the Goneral Telephone Company and the Florida Power
Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the outcome of these hearings is of vital interest
to all citizens of this community; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the utility rates charged be
reduced to the lowest possible point;
~~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
''~ IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
~} FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
officially states their interest in the public hearings being held by the
Public Utilities Commission and endorses any reduction of utility rates
which would benefit the community and the City does hereby request
that the said Commission continue to woxk to increase the quality of
services of all public utilities as well as toward a xeduction of rates.
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded
forthwith to the Public Utilities Commission of the State of Florida
and to the Board of County Commissioners of Pinellas County, Florida.
