WHEREAS, Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners have
proposed that South Missouri Avenue be widened to six lanes instead of four
lance; and
WHEREAS, new and expanding shopping centers on and near South
Missouri Avenue have resulted in a substantial increase in traffic; and
WHEREAS, such widening would relieve the congestion and other
inconveniences caused by the increased flaw of traffic on said Avenue;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMM3SSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
~ 1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater officially
endorses the proposal of Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners
to widen South Missouri Avenue to six lanes.
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be furnished to the Pinellas
Gounty Board of County Commissioners, Clearwater, Florida, and to Mr.
Warren Cason, State Road Board Member, 601 First National Bank Building,
Tampa, Florida.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of December, 1963.
