WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida, has experienced a
tremendous growth, both in population and area, in recent years; and
WHEREAS, it is, therefore, necessary and desirable to enlarge and
expand the sanitary sewer system of the City of Clearwater to better provide
for the protection of the health and welfare of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City•of Clearwater, Florida, has under Public
Law 660 applied to the United States Public ,Health Service through the
Florida State Board of Health for a grant of funds to be used in connection
with the Clearwater East Sewer Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, in response to said application, an offer of funds in the
amount of $167, 450. 00 has been made to the City of Clearwater by the Federal
Government through the United States Public Health Service and the Florida
State Board of Health;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City of Clearwater hereby formally accepts the offer of
said grant of funds in the amount of $167, 450.00 and the proper municipal
officers are authorized to execute any and all instruments necessary to
formally complete and carry out the acceptance of said grant of funds.
