RESOLUTION
Nu. 64 - i97
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Commission
of the City of Clearwater that the automobile insurance companies have
applied to the State Insuxance Commissioner for a raise in premium rates;
and
WYiEREAS, such a raise in premium rates seems inadvisable and
unnecessary at this time and would cause a hardship upon our citizens and
especially upon the senior Citizens of the State; and
WHEREAS. the City Commission desires to gp on record as opposing
such an increase in premium rates on automobile insuxance in our Great
State of Florida;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED. AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater hereby formally
opposes an increase in premium rates on automobile insurance in our
State of Florida and requests d. Edwin Larsen, State Insurance Commissioner,
to deny the request of the automobile insurance companies for such a raise,
2. That a certified copy of taus Resolution be forwarded forthwith
to 3. Edwin Laxson, State Insurance Commissioner, Tallahassee, Florida.
