WHEREAS, ,the City Commission of the City of Clearwater feels
that in order to facilitate the flow of traffic to and from the Suncoast of the
Great State of Florida that U. S. Highway 19 South from Chicfland to New
Port Richey should be four-laned; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission further believes that in order to
facilitate tratfic to and from the 5uncoast to Interstate Highway 75 and in
order to make it possible for tourists to visit the West Coast of Florida
that a spur should be constructed from said Interstate Highway 75 between
Gainesville and Ocala linking said Interstate Highway with U. S. Highway
19 at Lebanon Station;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARW~ITER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater hereby
formally requests the State Road Department of the State of Florida to take
under immediate consideration the four-laning of U. S. Highway 19 South
from Chiefland to New Port Richey,
2. That further the City Commission of the City of Clearwater hereby
t:' formally requests the State Road Department of the State of Florida to take
under immediate consideration the construction of a spur from interstate
4~' Highway 75 between Gainesville and Ocala linking the same with U. S.
r-~ Highway 19 at Lebanon Station.
. 3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be delivered forthwith
to the State Road Department of the State of Florida, Mr. Warren Cason,
State Raad Hoard Member, and the Greater Clearwater Chamber of
Commerce.
