A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT
OF REVENUE TO PROVIDE PERIODIC LISTINGS OF STATE. SALES
. TAX CERTIFICATE HOLDERS: PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds it necessary and desirable to request

the Florida Department of Revenue to provide listings of state sales tax
certificate holders for comparison with those businesses within the City of
Clearwater which have obtained occupational licenses: now therefore, .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission requests the Florida Department of Revenue
to furnish to the Planning and Development Director of the City the names and
addresses of taxpayers registered to collect the sales and use tax in the City
of Clearwater, pursuant to Section 213.053(9), Florida Statutes.
Sect.ion 2. The City Commission acknowledges that the following rules shall
govern the use of such information by the City and its officers and employees in
order to assure the confidentiality of the information, as required by law:
(a) The information shall be deemed confidential except for official
purposes and is exempt from the requirements of Section 119.07(1), Florida
Statutes. The City is aware that divulging any such information in any manner,
except for official purposes, constitutes a misdemeanor of the first degree.
(b) Those City employees authorized by the Planning and Development
Director to use information from the listings shan work in an area not available
to the general public. When the listings are not in use, they shall b~ kept
locked. Old listings shall be destroyed.
(c) The listing shall be marked ~confidcntial" and sent to the Planning
and Development Director of the City of Clearwater to ensure the confidentiality
. of the .enc1osed information throughout the mai ling process.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
