RESOLUTION ~O. 90N4
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A
UNITED STATES FEDERAL COURTHOUSE IN ST. PETERSBURG;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City COlIIRission of the City of Clearwater, Florida, is
co~cerned with the promotion of justice and access to the courts by the citizens
of pinellas County and the State of Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Greater Pinellas County Area and the West Coast of Florida
continues to experience population growth; and
WHEREAS, Congress has provided in 28 U.S.C. Section 89 that court for the
Middle District of Florida shall be held, among other places, at St. Petersburg,
Florida; and
WHEREAS" there is a real and pressing need for the establishment of a
'United States Federal C~urthouse in Pinellas County to insure the protection of
the rights of the citizens to prompt and' equal justice under the law; now,
therefore,
