RESOLUTION NO. 89-45
A RESOLUTION OF THE ClTV COMmSSlON OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER.
FLORIDA. TO CONFIRU OUR DESIGNATION OF WYONG SHIRE, NEW SOUTH
WALES. AUSTRALIA, AS OUR SISTER CITY AND INVITING THE PEOPLE OF
WVONG SHIRE AND THE CITV OF CLEARWATER TO PARTICIPATE IN SMD
PROGRAI1.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida and Wyong Shire, New South Wales, Australia,
do mutually agree to establish a Sister City affiliation between our two cities; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this relationship is to further friendship and ,understanding
between our two cities, and to contribute to both cities' development by the exchange of
education and culture, industry and economy. childrens' and students' works. and
individuals who are interested in learning and sharing with a country enjoying a different
lifestyle and environment; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COHHISSION OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Conmission on behalf of the people of the City of C1ean'later.
and as approved on April 7, 1988, does hereby extend an invitation to the government and
the people of Wyong Shire, New South Wales, Australia, to participate with the City of
Clearwater as its Sister City for the purpose of creating greater mutual understanding
between the people of our two great cities and nations.
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to act as official representative of the
City of Clearwater to carry out this program.
Section 3. Copies of this Resolution shall be sent to the President and Council of
Wyong Shire, New South Wales, Australia, Sister Cities International in Washington, D.C.,
the Ambassador of Australia to the United States, and the Ambassador of the United States
to Australia.
