RESOLUTION NO. 89-43
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE TEEN TASK FORCE AND
ITS GOALS AND OBJECTIVES TO PROVIDE SAFE LOCAnm~S FOR
TEENAGEnS TO GATHER AND SOCIALIZEj PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, North Pinellas County has many teenage youths who are seeking safe
locations in which to gather and socialize without disrupting neighborhoods
and/or businessesj and
WHEREAS, the Teen Task Force of North Pinellas County is attempting to
secure such locations for the teenagersj and
WHEREAS, the School Board of Pinellas County, Florida, has pledged its
support of such a concept at its meeting of July 26, 1989: and
WHEREAS, the need for such locations is well established;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby proclaims its support of the concept
of securing safe locations for the teenagers of North Pinellas County, and does
hereby agree to work with the School Board of Pinellas County and the Teen Task
Force of North Pinellas County in attempting to secure such safe locations for
the teenagers to gather and socialize.
Section 2. Upon the adoption of this resolution, the City Clerk shall
provide copies hereof to the Teen Task Force.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of August, 1989.
