RESOLUTION
No. 88 - 25
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
ENCOURAGING THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO CONSIDER
THE NEEDS OP TRANSIT SYSTEMS THROUGHOUT THE
STATE WHEN DELIBERATING ANY NEW 'fRANSPORTATION
FUNDING MECHANISMS, PROVZOINO AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, mass transit Is an Important element In the overall transportation
system In the State ot FlorIda, and
, WHEREAS, the financIal needs ot the state's various transit systems should be
considered along with the needs of the other transportation modes, IncludIng hIghways;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. If the Florida Legislature chooses to consider measures to augment
the available transportation revenues during the 1988 legislative session, the
Legislature Is encouraged to designate a talr and reasonable portion ot thOS13 new
revenues for mass transit purposes.

Section 2. A copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to each member of the
Pinel1Bs County Leglsla.tlve Delegation promptly upon Its adoption.
Section 3. This resolution shall take efrect Immediately upon adoption.
