A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA
URGING THE CITIZENS OF CLEARWATER TO SUPPORT
'THE 1986 FLORIDA CHALLENGER 7K RUN!WALK-A-TUON
ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 1986, WHICH WILL BENEFIT
THE ASTRONAUTS MEMORIAL FOUNDATION.
WHEREAS, the Astronauts Memorial Foundation is sponsoring
the 1986 Florida Challenger 7K Run!Walk-A-Thon on Saturday,
November 22, 1986: and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this event is to show our support of
America's space program and the activities of the Astronauts Memorial
Foundation: and
WHEREAS, the city Commission wishes to urge the citizens of
Clearwater to support this worthwhile endeavor:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section: 1., The City Commission strongly urges the citizens
of Clearwater to support the 1986 Florida Challenger 7K Run!Walk-
A-Than on Saturday, November 22, 1986, in order to show our support
to the construction of an Astronauts Memorial and Educational Center
at Kennedy Space Center in honor of all fourteen astronauts who
have died in the line of duty.

Section 2. ~ copy of this Resolution shall be sent by the
"',City Clerk to the Astronauts Memorial Foundation.

Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immedia~~ly
upon adoption.
