A RESOLUTION OF THE' CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, URGING THE RESIDENTS OF
CLEARWATER, TO COMPLY WITH SOUTHWEST FLORIDA
WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT'S REQUEST FOR VOLUNTARY
RESTRICTIONS ON DAYTIME WATERING OF LAWNS AND
LANDSCAPING.
WHEREAS, the Southwest Florida Water Management District has
requested all residents of the District to comply voluntarily with
its request not to water lawns and landscaping during the daytime
hours of 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, because the purpose of this restriction is to eliminate
the evaporation of a large amount of water that occurs when
irrigation is done during the daytime, the City Commission wishes
to urge compliance with this request;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby urges the residents of

Clearwater to comply w1th the Southwest Flor1da Wat~r Management
District's voluntary restrictions by not watering lawns and
landscaping between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.
Section 2. The City Commission understands that this voluntary
ban does not include sprinkling with treated wa.stewater effluent
or other forms of re-clairned water, and that it allows certain
exceptions relating to recreation area use and to the irrigation
of new landscape projects.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon adoption.
