WHEREAS, the Charter and By-Laws of the Florida League of
Cities provides for representation of the ten cities in the State
of Florida with the largest population on the board of direct.ors

WHEREAS, when the subject Charter and By-Laws were adopted
the census data of the United States Census was to be used for

this determination; and

WHEREAS, the annual population estimates provided by the

Bureau of Economic and Business Research are based on estimates
only; and
WHEREAS, the United States census information is based on fact
and is the official data which should be used;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:

1. That the Board of Directors and the membership of the
Florida League of Cities is urged not to amend Article V of the
Charter of the League of Cities but to retain the same as it is

2. That this resolution shall become effective immediately
