RESOLUTION
No . B 5 - 2
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, OPPOSING
THE COOPERATIVE PUBLIC LIBRARY PLAN FOR
PINELLAS COUNTY AS PROPOSED BY THE
LIBRARIANS' TASK FORCE.
WHEREAS, the Clearwater Public Library Syotem has a tradition,
of offering quality public library service; and
WHEREAS, quality library service requires leadership, pro-
fessional staffing and adequate funding, neighborhood branch
libraries and modern equipment; and
WHEREAS, the Cooperative Public Library Plan does not
adequately address the needs of quality library service as
enumerated above;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1.
That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater,is
opposed to the Cooperative P.,blic Library Plan for Pinellas County
as proposed by the Librarians' Task Force as revised October 31,
1984.
2. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its' adoption.
