WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater and Samuel R. Garrett, a
police officer, have been made defendants in an action for damages,

which is the subject matter of the case of David S. Crosby v.
Nicholas A. Spada, etc., et al, Circuit Civil No. 84-14201-12~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to take any

and all steps necessRry to defend the City of Cle~ter and
Samuel R. Garrett, a police officer, in the case of David S.
Crosby v. Nicholas A. Spada, Eastman Leasing Corporation,
Samuel R. Garrett, and the City of Clearwater, Circuit Civil

2. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately'
