A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
TO INSTALL RAILROAD CHOSSING FLASHERS AT HOWARD STREET AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO PAY ITS ANNUAL SHARE OF MAINTENANCE
COST.

WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation is coordinating
a program throughout the State of Florida. utilizing Federal funds, to
eliminate hazardous railroad crossing locations through the installation of
crossing flashers and/or gates; and
WHEREAS, Howard Street in the City of Clearwater. Florida is
eligible for such program; and
WHEaEAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida, wishes to participate in
such program nnd as a part of such participation is willing to pay one-half
(1/2) the annual operating and maintenance cost, p"esently established to
be $325.00 per year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY AND
REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Conmission of the City of Clearwater. Florida,
hereby requests the Florida Department of Transportation to include the
Howard Street crossing in Clearwater, Florida. in its program of installing
crossing flashers and/or gates at hazardous railroad crossing locations.
2. That the City of Clearwater, Florida. is willing to pay onefthalf
(1/2) the annual operating and maintenance costs, presently established to be
$325.00 per year.
3. That the r~ayor-Commissioner. City Man,ager, City Clerk and
City Attorney be authorized to enter into such agreement with the Florida
Department of Transportation as will coordinate the program and cost items
described herein.
4. That this Resolution shall take effect irnmed1~tely upon its
