A RESOLU'rION OF TUE CITY COMrUSSION OF THE
CI'lIY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, REAFFIRMING THE
CITY'S INTENTION TO MAINTAIN RESIDENTIAL
DEVELOPMENT PATTERNS ALONG McMULLEN-BOOTH ROAD.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has in its comprehensive
planning, sought to preserve the non-commercial character of
McMullen-Booth Road through its designation as a scenic ~on-
commercial corridor on the Land Use Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Clearwater Land Use Plan designates no commercial
land usage North of S.R. 580 and South of Curlew Creek Road, for
the West side of McMullen-Booth Road; and
WHEREAS, portions of the McMullen-Booth Road corridor remain
unincorporated and under the jurisdiction of Pinellas County, and
frontage on the East side of McMullen-Booth Road is subject to
annexation by the City of Safety Harbor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSIN DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED" AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the current non-co~nercia1 land use po1iace is hereby
affirmed.
2. That the cooperation of other jurisdictions exercising
land use authority in the McMullen-Booth Road corridor is hereby
requested, togward the end of retaining residential land use
designations along McMullen-Booth Road.

3. That, to the maximum extent possible, commercial and
office needs shall be accommodated in those existing areas which
are currently designated for such uses.

4. That the practice of linear development of commercial or
office usage shall specifically be discouraged along both the
East and West sides of McMullen-Booth Road.

5. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
