A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER RECOGNIZING CLEARWATER
FROGRESS, INC., A PROPOSED NON-PROFIT
CORPORATION, AS A PRIVATE FU~D RAISING
ORGANIZATION TO COLLECT FUNDS AND PROPOSE
PROJECTS IN THE REDEVELOPMENT OF DOWNTOWN
CLEARWATER.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater presently is proposing to
. redevelop the downtown area; and
WHEREAS, in furtherance of this purpose large segment~ of
the area have been declared blighted and the various steps,
including establishing a plan, the redevelopment agency and
trust fund, pursuant to Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, have
been perfected) and
WHEREAS, a private sector non-profit corporation, known
as Clearwater Progress, Inc., has been formed to seek funds
and undertake development projects from the private sector; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to recognize this. private
initiative in furthering the redevelopment objectives;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater does
hereby recognize Clearwater Progress, Inc., a proposed non-profit
corporation, as a private fund raising and development initiative
group through which interest and support may be expressed in
furthering the redevelopment of the downtown district.
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded
to the President of Clearwater Progress, Inc.
3. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
