RESOLUTION
No. 84 - 10
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY
TO DEFEND THE CITY OF CLEARWATER; THOMAS
BUSTIN, CITY ATTORNEY; AND LUCILLE WILLIAMS,
CITY CLERK, IN A CASE IN U.S. DISTRICT COURT
STYLED CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY FLAG SERVICE
ORG., INC. V. CITY OF CLEARWATER, ET AL,
NO. 84-76 CIV-T-15.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, Thomas Bustin, City Attorney,
arid Lucille williams, City Clerk, have been made party defendants
in an action for declaratory and injunctive relief challenging
the threatened enforcement of Clearwater Ordinance No. 3091-83,.
which is the subject matter of a case in U.S. District Court,
No. 84-76 CIV-T-15;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to take any
and all steps necessary to defend the City of Clearwater, Thomas
Bustin, City Attorney, and Lucille williams, City Clerk, in a
case in U.S. District Court styled Church of Scientology Flag
Service Org., Inc. v. City of Clearwater, Thomas Bustin, City
Attorney of the City of Clearwater, and Lucille Williams, City
Clerk of the City of Clearwater" No. 84-96 CIV-T-15.
2. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its passage.
