RESOLUTION NO. 26-11
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER
APPOINTING ATTORNEY, NANCY B. MAG, ESQ. AS A
CODE ENFORCEMENT SPECIAL MAGISTRATE;
APPROVING A SPECIAL MAGISTRATE SERVICES
AGREEMENT FOR THE SAME; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City wishes to retain an attorney to provide Special Magistrate
Services to the City of Clearwater for the purpose of conducting hearings pursuant to
Chapter 162, Florida Statutes, and Article V and VII of the Clearwater Community
Development Code;
WHEREAS, attorney Nancy B. Mag is a duly licensed member of the Florida Bar,
and has agreed to serve in this capacity, accepting the appointment as a Special
Magistrate along with the powers, duties, and responsibilities associated with such an
appointment; and
WHEREAS, the Special Magistrate Services are professional services that are
legal in nature, and shall be conducted in a manner consistent with the applicable law as
well as the terms and conditions of the Special Magistrate Services Agreement that is
attached hereto and incorporated into this Resolution; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The Clearwater City Council hereby appoints attorney, Nancy B. Mag
to serve as a Special Magistrate pursuant to Florida Statutes Chapter 162, and Articles V
and VII of the Clearwater Community Development Code with all of the powers and duties
associated with such laws.
SECTION 2: The appointment shall be consistent with the attached Special
Magistrate Services Agreement, and the appropriate officials are hereby authorized to
administer said Agreement consistent with this Resolution.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall be effective upon adoption.
