Roll Call
Present 4 -Board Member Bryan Voliton, Board Member Kimberly DiVito, Board
Member Johnathan Barnes, and Board Member Gregory Byrd

1. Call To Order
The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
2. Approval of Minutes
2.1 Approve the minutes of the May 22, 2025 Public Art & Design Board meeting.
Board Member Barnes moved to approve the minutes of the May 22,
2025 Public Art and Design Advisory Board meeting as submitted in
written summation. The motion was duly seconded and carried
unanimously.
3. Citizens to be Heard Regarding Items Not on the Agenda
Clearwater Arts Alliance representative Beth Daniels provided updates
on the signal boxes art project and upcoming show exhibition.
4. New Business Items
4.1 Discuss and Vote on Mosaic Sculpture at Marina Walk
Arts and Cultural Affairs Manager Amber Brice said there were some
issues with moving forward on the selected "Floaty Totem"sculpture
and presented two other options for the board to select for the Marina
Walk.
Board Member Barnes moved to select "Catch Boat" as the Marina
Walk sculpture. The motion was duly seconded and carried
unanimously.
4.2 City Hall Suspended Sculpture Proposals - Discussion and Vote
Ms. Brice presented suspended sculpture options for Clearwater's City
Hall for the board to select two designs or artists from the presented
options.
Board member Barnes moved to select Kristler and Peterson as the
two artist candidate recommendations. The motion was duly seconded
and carried unanimously.

4.3 East Pollution Control Facility Mural - Discuss and Vote on Design
Ms. Brice presented the sea life mural options for the East Pollution
Control Facility.
Board member Barnes moved to support the sea life mural. The motion
was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
4.4 World's Largest Rubber Duck Coming to Clearwater
Ms. Brice said the worlds largest rubber duck was coming to Clearwater
in January for three weeks of events in Coachman Park.
4.5 New Marymont Park Mural
Ms. Brice said the park has been closed for months for debris holding
purposes however the city was now renewing the park and placing a mural
on the amenities building.
Board member Barnes moved to support the mural project. The motion
was duly seconded and carried unanimously.
4.6 Restoration of City Public Art Pieces
Ms. Brice presented the restoration of public art pieces that have been
completed throughout the city.
4.7 Public Art Condition Reports &Appraisals
Ms. Brice said the art installations at the Main and East Library branch
locations were found not to have been powder coated and will require more
effort and cost to clean and restore.
4.8 Art Oasis Mural Festival - North Greenwood
Ms. Brice said the CRA was having a festival in 2026 and applications
were open for any business to apply to potentially be selected to receive
a free mural.
4.9 Crest Lake Park Giving Wall Mural
Ms. Brice said a mural request was received for the other side of the
Giving Wall at Crest Lake Park, a public vote elected a dog chasing
a duck design for the mural.
Board member Barnes moved to approve the community selected
artist and design. The motion was duly seconded and carried
unanimously.

4.10 Discuss the Use of Al Technology for Scoring Artist Applications
Ms. Brice said Al would be tested in scoring artist applications and
reviewed the perimeters and limitations that could be established or
accounted for with utilizing artificial intelligence for narrowing samples
of project proposals for review beginning in December 2025.

7. Board Members to be Heard
The Board discussed various art styles that can be used to enhance
visual perspectives in murals throughout the city.
