I received a note from Kevin at the monument company showing that Franklin's headstone has been moved. I haven't been by but it looks like it's where it is supposed to be. <image002.jpg> Internment for Franklin will likely be in late February and we are tracking the need to provide you with the following information: "Please let me know when the ashes have been placed so I can update our records with Franklin's info (Date of Birth, Date of Death, Date Ashes were placed)." This brings me to one last question. Are there any requirements that we need to follow to place the ashes? Can we (the family) dig the hole and place the ashes ourselves? I agree that the staked location in the photo you sent on Friday looks to be in the correct location. I traded e-mail with Kevin at the monument company over the weekend and he said there would be a cost of $125 to relocate the headstone. Can I assume that since the City mis- marked the original location that the City will cover the cost and schedule to move the headstone to the correct location? Our family plans to inter Mr. Thornton in February of next year on his birthday. There is no rush to move on this immediately, but I do hope this can be corrected soon. Please let me know if there are any questions on moving the headstone. It's important to make sure this is accurately resolved as I will be one of the last two family members buried here and the details need to be correct for those working on my or my brother's final arrangements. Franklin's headstone was set in-between Spaces 10 and 11 where headstones are already are in place. From the attached space assignment, Spaces 1, 2, 9, 10 and 11 are filled. From documents I have that were passed on to me by my mother when the internment rights were assigned to her, it looks to me like there is sufficient space between adjacent families interred at the cemetery for Franklin to be placed in Space 12, as well as my brother and I in Spaces 3 and 4 when the time comes. In short it seems like there is room for Franklin, my brother and I per the attached. When looking at a number of other headstones in the cemetery, they are spaced 3-4 feet apart (center of one headstone to the next), which I assume is designed • to accommodate the width of a coffin. As placed, Franklin's headstone is only 18 inches (center on center) from the headstones on either side in Spaces 10 7 and 11. This is not consistent with the rest of the cemetery and would not accommodate a coffin. I would like to speak with you about this at your convenience and perhaps come to Clearwater to look at the city records and compare them to what I have to see what differences there might be.
