Osceola Avenue Clearwater, FL 33755 e Meeting Minutes Tuesday, July 22, 2025 6:30 PM Main Library - Council Chambers Parks and Recreation Board City of Clearwater Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes July 22, 2025 Roll Call Present 5 - Chair Patrick Raftery, Vice Chair Kelly S. Kelly, Board Member Candance Gardner, Board Member Bianca Latvala, and Board Member Angelica Lonesome Absent 2 - Board Member Timothy Burnham, and Board Member Stephanie Sisti Also Present 2 - Parks and Recreation Assistant Director Mike Lockwood, and City Clerk Specialist Danielle DeBois 1. Call To Order The Chair called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. 2. Approval of Minutes 2.1 Approve the minutes of the April 22, 2025 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meeting. Board Member Kelly moved to approve the minutes of the April 22, 2025 Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting as submitted in written summation. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 3. Citizens to be Heard Regarding Items Not on the Agenda Bill Jonson said there have been improvements and new concerns in Coachman Park. Jason Masterpiestro of Friends of Moccasin Lake said he is looking for information regarding the property next to the park on Edenwood Street and expressed concerns over Moccasin Lake. Parks and Recreation Assistant Director Mike Lockwood said he would follow up on the concerns and provided active project updates. 4. New Business Items 4.1 Follow-up Report - Marymont Park Community Meeting on June 17, 2025. Mr. Lockwood said the June 17, 2025 community meeting discussed citizen concerns. Mr. Lockwood said staff are working with external vendors to make infrastructure improvements. 4.2 Status Update - Shuffleboard and Lawn Bowling Facilities Shuffleboard and Lawn Bowling facilities were discussed with the community sport club liaisons regarding the requirements for both clubs. 2 City of Clearwater Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes July 22, 2025 4.3 Status Update - Pier 60 Repairs Mr. Lockwood said repair options were presented to City Council to decide how the pier will be restructured and said the Bait House to the "T" portion will be open on September 1, 2025. 4.4 Status Update - Marketing Mr. Lockwood said Parks and Recreation month was a success and videos were posted to spread awareness. 5. Director's Report Mr. Lockwood said there is a budget workshop scheduled for August 6, and September 3, 2025 to present the fee schedule to City Council. It was said that summer camps have gone well and the next large event hosted by Parks and Recreation will be the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot. 6. Board Members to be Heard 7 Adjourn Attest: The board discussed park amenities that could improve citizen utilization and event interest.
