Osceola Avenue Clearwater, FL 33755 e P ' a i d Meeting Minutes Thursday, May 22, 2025 2:00 PM Special Meeting Main Library - Council Chambers Public Art and Design Board City of Clearwater Public Art and Design Board Meeting Minutes May 22, 2025 Roll Call Present 4 -Board Member Bryan Voliton, Board Member Kimberly DiVito, Board Member Johnathan Barnes, and Board Member Gregory Byrd Also Present— Amber Brice— Arts & Cultural Affairs Manager, and Danielle DeBois — City Clerk Specialist 1. Call To Order The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m. 2. Approval of Minutes 2.1 Approve the minutes of the December 9, 2024 Special Public Art& Design Board meeting. Board Member Byrd moved to approve the minutes of the December 9, 2024 Public Art and Design Advisory Board meeting as submitted in written summation. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 3. Citizens to be Heard Regarding Items Not on the Agenda Beth Daniels of the Clearwater Art Alliance shared an update on the upcoming Betsy Sculpture Series. 4. New Business Items 4.1 Select and Vote on Final Artist and Design for the Clearwater Marina Walk Sculpture Arts and Cultural Affairs Manager Amber Brice presented the final artists and designs for the Clearwater Marina Walk sculpture. Board Member Barnes moved to select the "Floaty Totem" by Eileen Gay for the Clearwater Marine Walk sculpture. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 4.2 Discuss Completion of Coachman Murals and Social Media Recognition Ms. Brice presented a PowerPoint of the completed murals in Coachman Park. 2 City of Clearwater Public Art and Design Board Meeting Minutes May 22, 2025 4.3 World's Largest Rubber Duck Exhibit Discussion Ms. Brice presented the possibility of Coachman Park hosting the world's largest rubber duck as an art exhibit. Discussion ensued on the feasibility and educational opportunities of holding rotating exhibits. 4.4 Grad Chalk Walk Discussion Ms. Brice said the Grad Chalk Walk was going to be up from May 28, 2025 to June 8, 2025 on the 400-500 block of Cleveland Street. 4.5 Discuss Fire Station 47 Mural Collaboration with Clearwater High School Ms. Brice said Fire Station 47 would have a yearly rotating mural by Clearwater High School students. 4.6 Election of Officers Board Member Barnes moved to appoint Bryan Voliton as Chair of the Public Art and Design Advisory Board. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Board Member Voliton moved to appoint Kimberly DiVito as Vice Chair of the Public Art and Design Advisory Board. The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. 5. Old Business Items 5.1 Discuss Installation of Smart Plaques Ms. Brice said the Smart Plaques are being installed and are estimated to be complete by the end of 2025. 5.2 Discuss the Mercado Art Installation and Community Event Ms. Brice said the Mercado art installation has been completed and was unveiled in a community event. It was said the mural would be sealed and preserved by city staff. 6. Director's Report Ms. Brice said the Public Art and Design Board is seeking two new members and shared how to apply to an advisory board. 3 City of Clearwater Public Art and Design Board 7.
